WELCOME TO YEAR SIX
Mr Tavernor's Class
International Week
During International Week we looked at traditional African Stories and at the 'Tinga Tinga' Art of Tanzania. As a class we produced a picture of Tinga Tinga animals. Each child was given a small part of the picture to copy; we then put all the pieces together like a jigsaw creating one large picture!

Some younger children may recognise the characters from Cbeebies programme Tinga Tinga Tales!
Our Topic 'The Victorians'

As part of our Autumn Term topic on The Victorians we visited Tatton Park, working in the mansion as servants for the day. We had to scrub floors, polish brass, make scones and even make beds. After all that hard work the children were given a tour of the mansion before finally eating the scones they had made earlier. It was a brilliant day out!

In art we decorated our intials in the style of Victorian artist 'William Morris'

In literacy we studied the book 'Street Child' by Berlie Doherty. The book inspired our writing.
